But this time around, he has gotten into the head of former Hendrick Motorsports crew chief. Speaking on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media, Junior’s legendary crew chief hit the JGR veteran with a sly jab as he called out the outspoken driver for his rude rant.

A few days earlier, Hamlin racked up his 3rd tournament win, emulating his 2017 and 2019 success. While the driver shared his achievement online on his Instagram, Hamlin, being the controversialist, decided to throw in some jabs as he went on a rant, inciting Steve Letarte.

Hamlin simply said, there’s no way the HMS veteran can shoot 85 in a 5 min rant with his close associate. To which Letarte returned fire, indirectly mocking Hamlin’s banter, essentially calling him a “big mouth.” He said, “We had a golf situation, a little golf tourney, and a big mouth who has a podcast on the Dirty Mo Network and it’s not Dale Jr, and it’s not Door Bumper Clear, I’ll let you figure out who’s left, said, there’s no way that I could shoot.”

The 1.3-mile short track at Darlington is also called the” Lady in Black,” simply because of the track’s infamous reputation. The egg-shaped oval has developed a notorious, considering the track’s old surface that shreds away the rubber, thus prompting drivers and teams to pit too often than most venues.

“There’s no place to hide,” said Letarte, who believes there is no room for error given the significance of the playoff starter. “I actually think, I love this race and I love this race for the predictor, and here’s why, there’s no bullsh**t, there’s nothing man, line up, bring your best car, go toe-to-toe and be fast,” said the NBC commentator.
